James Tony - New Champion WVA

In New York, at the evening of professional boxing, James Tony won the unanimous decision of the judges over John Ruiz, taking away the WBA champion in his heavyweight champion.

The initial rounds of the battle took place in an equal struggle, a small advantage in which, perhaps, was for Tony, but his blows, although more often hit the target, clearly did not cause much harm to the opponent.

In the third round, Ruzic managed to intercept the initiative, inflicting Tony several unrequited blows, and looked more convincing in exchange. At the end of the round, Tony managed to get successfully a couple of times, but this was unlikely to be enough to win the round in the judicial notes.

In the next three -minute, Tony managed to slightly shake the ruise, which this time had every reason to go to Klinch. Soon after this, Ruzu again hit Tony on the back of the head, having received another remark from the referee, reports All.Boxing.ru

The fifth round also took place in a rather equal struggle, unusual in which, perhaps, was only that Ruiz attacked his opponent much more often and more successful in the corps.

In the sixth round, Tony clearly took a pause and acted quite passively, giving the initiative to the opponent. However, at the very beginning of the seventh round, he sent Ruise to the flooring of the ring with a combination ending with a lateral blow to the left.

Ruiz rose quite easily and tried to indicate the referee that Tony, attacking, stepped on his foot (a slow video recovery showed that it was really so).

In the eighth round, Ruzu again visited the floor, however, this time already through his own fault, slipping after the inaccurate blow of the right. To the tenth round, it became obvious that not only Ruiz was tired. The blows of both boxers became viscous, and they were mainly limited to the exchange of jabs. At the end of the tenth round, Tony twice got tightly on the right, but without a special effect.

In the eleventh round, another right -wing Tony clearly shocked the ruise, and he again began to escape in Klinch, missing the blows on the corps.

By the twelfth round, it became clear that the Ruise for victory needed a knockout (or at least a couple of knockdowns - in case of a favorable refereeing for it). However, the knockout did not happen: Ruzu again missed Tony’s blows to the right, unsuccessfully trying to counterattack.

At the end of the battle, all the judges unanimously gave the victory to James Tony with a score of 116-111 (twice) and 115-112.

Tony, thus, became the only third in history of the world in mid -weight, which managed to win the title among heavyweights. And Ruz went down in history as a champion-surplus, who had twice lost his title to the former Midwife.

Soon after the battle, James Tony said that his immediate plans include the unification of the champion belts, and he would like to spend his next fight against the WBC champion Vitaly Klitschko. “I am ready to fight with anyone,” Tony said. “I'm not afraid of anyone. I need a fight that will bring a lot of money. Soon I will become the absolute champion of the world.”
