
The leaders of illegal armed groups planned to commit a large terrorist attack in Grozny on May 9 using women's suicide bombers. This was announced on Thursday evening by the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Chechen Republic Colonel Ruslan Alkhanov on Thursday.
He emphasized that, having received this information, the Ministry of Internal Affairs underwent surgery to detain suicide bombers and their accomplices.
"In the center of the village of Sernovodskaya, the Sunzhensky district, militants, including the suicide bomber, were blocked in one of the private abandoned houses near the secondary school. They showed armed resistance," Alkhanov emphasized.
According to him, the women's suicide bomber Mitraev, born in 1983, and Isaev, born in 1986, undermined themselves, bringing into effect their home-made explosive devices.
The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Chechen Republic said that during the operation the so -called "emir" of the Sunzhensky district Magomed Khaidarov and the leader of the gang group from the village of Samashka were destroyed. He also said that during the operation, one employee of the Sunzhensky District Department of Internal Affairs died and another was injured.
"The measures to establish accomplices of the liquidated group continue," the minister said.
On the eve of Victory Day in Grozny, the security regime has been strengthened
The security regime is reinforced on Thursday evening in Grozny.
As Interfax reports, additional police outfits are exhibited at the entrances to the city. The transport entering the city and traveling beyond its borders is carefully inspected. Reinforced outfits are exposed at intersections, as well as near bridges and other important communications.
"Practical measures are being carried out aimed at ensuring the security of the population on the eve and during the celebration of Victory Day," Ruslan Alkhanov, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Chechen Republic, told Interfax.
According to him, these events take part of the OMON unit under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Chechen Republic, the regiment of the police special forces to them. A. Kadyrov, regiment of the management of private security, regiment of the patrol and field of the police service, as well as four district departments of the internal affairs.
Alkhanov noted that the measures taken by the Ministry and other law enforcement agencies allowed to deliver a tangible blow to illegal armed groups in recent days, to disrupt their plans aimed at performing sabotage-terrorist acts and destabilizing the situation.
He recalled that on the eve of the entrance to the city of Grozny, a KAMAZ car, filled with more than a ton of explosives, was detained. Ruslan Alkhanov also noted that in the Sunzhensky district a group was eliminated, which included two suicide bombers, who intended to commit terrorist attacks in Grozny.
According to Alkhanov, in general, the Chechen Republic remains a calm situation and the measures taken are prophylactic.
