Ministry of Internal Affairs of Chechnya: Two female suicide bombers blew themselves up in Sernovodskaya

The leaders of illegal armed formations planned to carry out a major terrorist attack in Grozny on May 9 using female suicide bombers. According to Gazeta.Ru, this was reported to Interfax on Thursday evening by the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Chechen Republic, Ruslan Alkhanov.

According to Alkhanov, having received this information, the Ministry of Internal Affairs carried out an operation to detain the suicide bombers and their accomplices. "In the center of the village of Sernovodskaya in the Sunzhensky district, militants, including female suicide bombers, were blocked in one of the private abandoned houses not far from the secondary school. They put up armed resistance," Alkhanov stressed.

According to him, two women (Mitraeva, born in 1983, and Isaeva, born in 1986) blew themselves up by setting off improvised explosive devices they had in their possession.

The head of the Chechen Ministry of Internal Affairs said that during the operation, the so-called. "Emir" of the Sunzhensky District Magomed Khaidarov and the leader of a group of militants from the village of Samashki. He also said that during the operation, one employee of the Sunzha District Department of Internal Affairs was killed and another was wounded.

"Measures to identify accomplices of the liquidated group continue," the minister said.

As the press secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Chechen Republic, Ruslan Atsaev, said earlier, during the operation in Sernovodskaya, four militants subordinate to Doku Umarov were liquidated.
