At least 15 people were killed, another 100 were injured as a result of a terrorist attack in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. Among the wounded there are women and children. It is possible that the number of victims may increase. Many wounded are in critical condition, ITAR-TASS reports.

The number of victims as a result of the terrorist attack in India may exceed 100 people, sources in the Srinagar police - the summer capital Jammu and Kashmir report.

The head of the police Jammu and Kashmir Gopal Sharma confirmed the reports of the injury of 60 people. The death of 12 people is confirmed, RIA Novosti reports.

The explosion thundered about noon in the city of Pulvam near the state school. A truck filled with explosives exploded. According to the police, a carrier-suicide terrorist was driving a car. In a truck cabin, the remains of two human bodies were discovered in the explosion. "It could be suicide bombers. The truck was near the barracks of the central reserve police and the city police department," Sharma said.

At least one of the militants who were in the cockpit and died during the explosion was dressed in the uniform of the central reserve police. His personality is now being established.

The attack occurred in a crowded place. Near the place of the explosion were a local post office, school and market. Six people died on the spot, six more died from wounds on the way to the hospital. Many victims, including children, are in serious condition. Several people were sent to Srinar - the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir.

The frame and window glasses in several buildings located next to the terrorist place were also damaged by an explosive wave, about ten cars are also damaged, parked next to the post office. In several nearby buildings, mainly stores, a fire began. The sound of the explosion was heard throughout the city.

According to Gopal Sharm, the goal of the militants who laid the explosive device was the personnel of the central reserve police.

None of the religious and extremist groups acting in Jamm and Kashmire has yet taken responsibility for the terrorist attack. However, law enforcement agencies believe that militants from prohibited Muslim groups who are waged by Jamma and Kashmire armed struggle against the Central Indian government are responsible for this criminal action. In particular, it is assumed that the Hizb-ul-Mujahiddin organization, which is actively operating in the southern part of the Kashmir Valley, can be behind the terrorist attack.

Meanwhile, the largest association of Islamic parties and organizations in the Pulvam has already reacted to Pulvama in Pulvama - an all -party conference of freedom ("Hurriyat"). One of the leaders of the Hurriyat, Said Ali Shah Gilani, called on the population of Jammu and Kashmir to a universal strike against the inability of the authorities to ensure security.
