Over the week from July 8 to July 15, the dollar exchange rate fell by 16 kopecks. Today, $1 is worth 28.67 rubles. But the euro has become more expensive for the first time in several weeks: its rate rose by 23 kopecks to 34.62 rubles. As a result, over the past seven days, savings in dollars have depreciated by almost 0.6%, while savings in euros have become 0.7% more expensive.

Stock

Over the past seven days, the RTS index has grown by another 18 points to 755 points, or 2.4%. Based on the results of trading on the MICEX, this time the leaders were YUKOS shares, which rose in price by 17.3%. The cost of ordinary shares of Permenergo increased by 16%, and MGTS by 11.2%. Ordinary shares of Saratovenergo fell the most, falling by 10.4%. Shares of Seventh Continent lost 7.5% of their value. The price of ordinary shares of Sibneft and preferred shares of AvtoVAZ fell by 4.5% and 1.9%, respectively.

Bonds

The cost of some liquid ruble bonds of Russian companies fell by an average of 0.1–0.4%, while others rose by 0.1–0.3%. Their yield is now around 6.3–9.2% per annum.

Investments in government ruble bonds maturing in 2005–2008 will today provide income at the level of 4–6.2% per annum. The yield on longer-term OFZs maturing in 2009–2012 is approximately 7.2–7.6% per annum, and in 2016–2029 – 7.9–9.6% per annum.

The most profitable this time was the open-end mutual fund Finam Index MICEX managed by Finam Management. The fund's units rose in price by 9.5%. The investors' investments in the fund KIT - Russian Electric Power Industry (MC Creative Investment Technologies) grew by almost 5.3%. And the value of the mutual fund Kapital - Prospective Investments (MC Kapital) units grew by 4.6%. But the units of the mutual funds Maxwell Capital (MC Maxwell Asset Management) and Pythagoras - Bond Fund (MC Pythagoras) fell in price by 0.7% and 0.4%, respectively.

Among the general funds of bank management, the leader of the week was the fund "Universal" managed by Expobank, whose shares rose in price by 4.5%. The value of shares of OFBU "Yantar" managed by Energotransbank fell more than others (-2.3%).

Deposits

The reduction of interest rates on deposits for individuals continues.

BIN Bank has reduced interest rates on ruble deposits for individuals by approximately 1–1.8 percentage points, and on foreign currency deposits by almost 0.9–1.6 points.

Gold

The price of a troy ounce of gold on the world market fell by another $0.9 over the week to $423.4, i.e. by 0.2%. Some Russian banks also reduced the cost of gold bars. For example, in Lanta Bank and Bank Zenit , measured bars fell in price by 0.1–0.4% and 3.5%, respectively. But Bank of Moscow and Sberbank , on the contrary, began to sell gold bars more expensive. The cost of bullion gold in these banks increased by 0.1–0.3% and 0.6%, respectively. And in Gazprombank – by about 0.4–0.6%. In addition, Sberbank raised the purchase price of the silver investment coin “Sable” by 40 rubles to 3,090 rubles. And the bank began to buy gold coins from the “Signs of the Zodiac” series weighing 3.11 grams more expensively by 20 rubles and 150 rubles, respectively. – 1300 rubles and 3325 rubles.
