But there is one circumstance that explains this appointment: Wortmann’s patronage was the famous coach Luiz Felipe Scolari. It was this fact that gave reason to assume that Scolari, who is currently working with the Portuguese national team, will become Dynamo’s next coach. Scolari's contract with the European vice-champions expires next summer, and according to some reports, there is already some kind of preliminary agreement, according to which the eminent specialist will move to Moscow in a year.
If this is really the case, then the tenacity with which the current owner of Dynamo Alexey Fedorychev buys players from the Portuguese championship becomes clear. Following Derlei, Danny, Ciceru, Jorge Ribeiro, Maniche, Costinha, Seitaridis, Nigerian defender Joseph Enakarchir from Sporting, who signed a five-year contract with the Russian club, should soon join Dynamo. It is possible that the latest purchases were agreed upon with Scolari, and his colleague and longtime acquaintance Wortmann should conduct reconnaissance in Russia and monitor the process of adaptation of the “Portuguese”.
