Recently, Svetlanov returned to work in the Bolshoi Theater.

Evgeny Svetlanov worked fruitfully as a composer, writing many works, including the poems "Kalina Red", a romantic ballad, chamber-instrumental essays for piano, violin and cello.

Evgeny Svetlanov was also awarded the honorary title of Laureate of Leninsky, State Prizes of the USSR and the Russian Federation. He died in May 2002.
