Poland unites neighbors in the fight against Lukashenko

Prime Minister of Poland Marek Belka held telephone conversations with the heads of government of neighboring states - Lithuania, Latvia and Ukraine to coordinate actions against the regime of Alexander Lukashenko. RIA Novosti was reported in the office of the Polish Prime Minister.

"The topic of negotiations was the initiative to coordinate the actions of the states of the Republic of Belarus in relation to the actions of the Lukashenko regime," the press service said.

The heads of government of Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and Ukraine agreed on the creation of a working group, the purpose of which would be a "quick exchange of information and coordination of actions."

As the online publication "Charter'97" notes, they also supported the idea of ​​preparing an independent radio program in Belarusian.

Belk spoke about the need to coordinate actions against Belarus and the creation of a working group of representatives of four countries on August 17 at a meeting with deputies of parliamentary factions of the Polish Sejm. In addition, the Belarusian question was the focus of the presidents of Ukraine, Poland, Lithuania and Georgia at an informal summit in Crimea on August 18-19.

Official Kyiv expressed his readiness to be an intermediary in a dialogue between Poland and Belarus. At the CIS summit in Kazan, the President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko is going to discuss the problems of Polish-Belarusian relations with Alexander Lukashenko, Belapan reports.
