Another forceful action against the leftists - in the premises of the city committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, a brigade of scumbags in masks and with baseball bats severely beaten the members of the organizing committee of the annual procession "Anticapitalism". The result - three “red” activists had their heads broken, one was taken to the hospital with fractures of both hands.

There is every reason to believe that the city committee of the Communist Party was stormed by the same people who smashed the NBP bunker in the spring - the same "special forces" that I spoke about in detail in Novaya Gazeta on July 14 of this year.

However, I would not put the defeat of the NBP bunker and the headquarters of the Communist Party in the same row. This is a completely different matter, and the latest action could have much more serious consequences, and for the entire country.

Throughout the nineties, the NBP was perceived by society as a marginal fascist group, a creative outrageous installation by the writer Limonov - a kind of parody of the RNU. Yes, the NBP has changed in recent years: an openly fascist program was replaced by a social-democratic program, the party stopped demanding the revival of the Stalinist regime and, on the contrary, began to defend civil rights and freedom, to defend the Constitution. Since the nineties, the National Bolsheviks have retained only a shocking name and symbols stylized as a swastika.

However, it seems that the miraculous reincarnation of the NBP has remained unnoticed by society - people are too accustomed to perceive the National Bolsheviks in the same way as in the nineties, and it seems that only the most politicized part of Russian society noticed the changes within the NBP. That is why, I think, rallies in support of the arrested National Bolsheviks gathered representatives of almost all political parties, but at the same time, such a performance was never truly massive.

With the Communist Party - a completely different story. The Communist Party of the Russian Federation has tens of thousands of members. The Communist Party of the Russian Federation is the oldest parliamentary party in Russia. A forceful action against the Communist Party of the Russian Federation is not an action against a group of radicals, it is a forceful challenge to millions of Russian citizens who consider the Communist Party of the Russian Federation their party. Yes, and other opposition forces that understand that if you do not consolidate now, then tomorrow scumbags with baseball bats will come, for example, to YABLOKO or Rodina. And, as practice shows, law enforcement agencies will not be able (or will not want) to do anything.

Probably, someone will say that calling the pogrom at the headquarters of the Communists an attack on the Communist Party of the Russian Federation is an exaggeration: they allegedly beat the same National Bolsheviks and Akaemites anyway. This is true, but I am sure that in the public mind yesterday's action will be perceived precisely as an attack on the Communist Party - it was in all the news that the city committee of the Communist Party was the place of the fight.

In the thirties of the last century in Germany, street fights were also common. On opposite sides of the barricades with chains and fittings then stood the communists and the Nazis, who later came to power led by Hitler. Fights between red groups and far-right assault brigades are gradually becoming commonplace in modern Russia as well. The authorities are not trying to stop this phenomenon. On the contrary, it seems that the Kremlin political strategists are spinning some new political intrigue around the street war between leftists and fascists.

It's just very difficult to get rid of a bad feeling in this whole story.
