
The 18th Moscow International Book Exhibition-Fair will be held in Moscow from September 7 to 12.
According to a press conference on Thursday, General Director of MMKVVI Nikolay Ovsyannikov, this year "The exhibition is a record for the number of participants and the number of occupied areas." About 3 thousand companies will take part in it.
At the fair, it will be possible to purchase books of Russian and foreign authors with a 20-40 percent discount. An honorary guest at the fair will be a delegation of publishers and writers from Poland. In addition, representatives of Italy and the CIS countries will take part in MMKVVI, Interfax reports.
Within the framework of MMKVVI, several "round tables", meetings with writers, as well as a number of contests - "The Art of the Book of the CIS countries", "Book of the Year", as well as a competition for children and youth "Scarlet Sails".
Another competition, during which the “worst” book will be selected, will be held as part of the National Exhibition-Fair of the Book of Russia in Moscow from March 15 to 20, 2006, the booklet, widespread at a press conference at the Federal Press and Mass Communications Agency on Thursday.
“This is an“ antipruse ”for the worst publication that does not meet the requirements of modern book publishing on the part of translation, editing and proofreading. They are“ awarded ”by those publishers who do not properly honor their craft -art and publish a stone -story book,” the booklet says.
