Tarpishchev: Key will be the first day
The captain of the Russian national team Shamil Tarpishchev believes that the outcome of the semifinal match against the Croats can be predetermined on the first day. He expressed this opinion in an interview with RIA Novosti on Thursday after the official drawing ceremony.
“The first day will be the key, the further struggle in the match will depend on it,” Tarpishchev said. “To win, we need to fulfill two components - to submit and establish a struggle to the opponent’s presentation. Only in this case we will be able to win. Everything will depend on the result of the first day and further tactics. In general, we put the strongest players on single matches, so there are no secrets from each other. We do not have a friend. "
He also noted that the fast coating of the court (hard) chose the Croatian side for itself. “If the match took place in Russia, then the courts, of course, would be much slower,” Tarpishchev admitted.
