
Since the beginning of 2005, nine women and one student of the 11th grade have been detained in the Sogdian region of Tajikistan (in the north), involved in the prohibited Islamic organization of the Khizb Ut-Tahrir political lady. This was announced at a press conference on Thursday by the regional prosecutor Abdugaffor Kalandarov.
According to him, from the beginning of this year, 36 people were detained in the region on suspicion of involvement in the Hizb Ut-Tahrir. The prosecutor noted the active activity of the adherents of this forbidden organization, despite the fact that many members of the Hizb Ut-Tahrir were detained by law enforcement agencies.
According to him, while there are no threats of any terrorist attacks on the part of this organization. "On our part, the fact of the detention of the Hizb Ut -Tairer", who had weapons, was not recorded, he said, adding that "their main activity is the distribution of leaflets and literature containing calls to overthrow the constitutional system and create a single Islamic caliphate."
