Because of this, the Colombian lost a lot of time and returned to the track on the 14th, and then completely got off the distance for no apparent reason and returned to the boxes, which significantly reduced the chances of McLaren to win the Cup of designers.

However, Pace car also eliminated the advantage of Alonso, although the Spaniard did not lose leadership. And Michael Schumacher (Ferrari), who started with Pete Lane due to a collision with Christian Albers (Minardi) at the morning warm-up, flew out of the highway during the first appearance of Pacis and completed the struggle ahead of schedule.

On the 29th circle, Narain Kryn Kryan (Jordan) seriously broke the car, the wreckage of the car was on the asphalt (however, the racer was not injured and got out of Kokpita independently), so the security machine drove away again. And again, some leaders went to boxes, due to which Ralph Schumacher (Toyota), Felipe Mass (Zauber) and Christian Klin (Red Bull) seriously improved their position. And Rubens Barricello ("Ferrari"), due to problems with tires, lost several positions, dropped out of the prize eight and rolled into ninth place.

In the last circles, nothing significant happened, except for the fact that Physicelle was punished by traveling on Pete Lane for preventing one of the rivals at the entrance to the boxes. This penalty cost the Italian of the catwalk, but did not prevent Renault from defeating the designers' Cup.
