A new Pushkin Prize was awarded in Moscow

In Moscow, a ceremony of presenting a revived Pushkin Prize was held - it was awarded in the nomination "for the aggregate creative contribution to the domestic culture" Filologist Sergey Bocharov. The size of the award is 250 thousand rubles.

In 1909, Bunin and Kuprin became laureates of the Pushkin Prize. The new prize was established by the philanthropist Alfred Tepfer, as well as the reserve in Mikhailovsky and the poet museum in Moscow, the Radio "Culture" reports.

The jury and competitions in the new prize are not provided. The award was awarded on October 31 - it was on this day in Boldin Pushkin finished the "Copper Horseman". It is planned that in the future the Pushkin Prize will become regular, and it will be awarded on the poet’s birthday. From next year, the second prize will be awarded - 100 thousand rubles in the nomination "For the innovative development of domestic cultural traditions."

Prize Chairman - Andrey Bitov. As part of the prize, grants for a two -week stay in Mikhailovsky are also provided as creative reward.

The first laureate of the award Sergey Bocharov was born in Moscow in 1929, graduated from the Faculty of Philology of Moscow State University. He works at the Institute of World Literature. He is engaged in the study of Pushkin’s life and poetry.
