Slavneft, which for three years, could not share Sibneft and TNK-BP, can find the only owner. The recently bought Sibneft, Gazprom announced that he wanted to buy a share in Slavneft and from the Russian-British company.
The structures of TNK-BP and Sibneft are controlled by 99% of Slavneft shares. Its main mining enterprise is Megionneftegaz. Slavneft owns 60.7% of its shares, about 35%-TNK-BP and Sibneft structures. Net profit for the first half of 2005 - $ 1.42 billion, revenue - 5.73 billion.
The owners of Sibneft and TNC bought 74.95% of Slavneft shares for $ 1.86 billion at a privatization auction at the end of 2002, recall Vedomosti . They immediately announced that they would divide the company in half, but since then they managed to share only the Slavneft's sales network. And the oils of Sibneft and TNK-BP divided by the company and its refineries are divided by the company and its refineries.
But soon dual power can end: Gazprom wants to get the company. “The way Slavneft was controlled is not the best option,” said Alexander Medvedev, deputy chairman of the gas monopoly and head of the GAZ EXPORT. He promised that as soon as Gazprom “deal with Sibneft”, he would be inquired at other oil assets, including foreign ones. But the first in line is Slavneft.
According to the newspaper, Gazprom has already begun preliminary negotiations about this with Russian shareholders TNK-BP, although it is too early to talk about the price and conditions. Half of Slavneft can cost at least 3-4 billion dollars, said the analyst of the Three Dialogue Valery Nesterov.
In addition, the subject of negotiations can be not only money. Perhaps TNK-BP could change the share in the company for other assets or services from the state monopoly, for example, to the ability to export gas from the Kovyktinsky deposit to China.
