The investigation into the case of the collision of the son of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian government, Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Sergei Ivanov, Alexander Ivanov, with 68-year-old Muscovite Svetlana Beridze, who died on the spot from her injuries, ended the day before. According to the newspaper "Novye Izvestia", the case was closed due to the absence of violations, as well as corpus delicti in the actions of the driver.

Let us remind you that on the evening of May 20, Alexander Ivanov, in his personal Volkswagen Bora car, on Lobachevsky Street, near house No. 92, at a controlled pedestrian crossing, hit 68-year-old Svetlana Beridze, who died on the spot. An investigator from the Western District Internal Affairs Directorate opened a criminal case into the death. The investigation lasted six months and ended with the acquittal of the son of a high-ranking official.

Meanwhile, the daughter of the deceased stated that the investigation into the circumstances of S. Beridze’s death was biased. She provided several details. In particular, according to her, the investigation of the case was constantly delayed; for a long time, relatives were not allowed to familiarize themselves with the results of the forensic medical examination and other materials of the case. Moreover, some investigation materials were not presented to them at all.

“On October 11, we filed a complaint against the results of the forensic examination, according to which the blow hit my mother in the right side. But this simply cannot be,” says the daughter of the deceased. “I remember exactly how he crashed into my mother on the left. We called the investigator to find out the fate complaints. He did not answer anything specific. Although, as it turned out later, a decision was made to deny our application on October 12. But on November 17, a month later, they sent us two papers in one envelope: one stating that the case had been extended until 21 November, and the second - that we were denied a confrontation with the forensic expert. Thus, they waited another month. And on Monday they told us that the case was closed."

In addition, the relatives insist on falsifying the results of the official examination of the speed at which A. Ivanov’s car was moving. The official's son claims that at the time of the collision he was driving at a speed of 58 km per hour. The examination showed that his speed did not exceed 80 km per hour.

However, according to the daughter of the deceased, the speed of the car was much higher: “After the impact, my mother’s body flew up 4 meters, and she was thrown forward 20 meters. I don’t think that at a speed of 58 km/h you can hit a person like that. But the impact was the strongest. The things that mom had in her bag seemed to be squeezed by a press, and a bunch of metal keys were bent as if they were tin."

In addition, the newspaper notes, the case materials do not contain the testimony of two direct witnesses to the accident. Moreover, these witnesses were not interviewed at all. This is a man who, according to Svetlana Beridze’s relatives, saw her crossing the road when the traffic light was green and could confirm this. And the crew of the first of two ambulances that arrived at the scene of the accident.

According to S. Beridze's daughter, the first ambulance arrived when there were not even traffic police officers yet. Doctors examined the deceased and determined that her spine was broken in two places. Another ambulance arrived and took the body away. The testimony of the first ambulance doctors could confirm or refute the data of the forensic examination.

The investigators' decision to close the case did not surprise the relatives of the deceased woman - they were prepared for such an outcome. But they still do not intend to stop and are going to turn to independent experts.
