BBC television company: In Iraqi prisons, they tear their nails and sprinkle wounds with salt

Cruel treatment with captives and torture are widespread in Iraq prisons, BBC British television and radio corporation reports from the Center for the Contents of Prisoners, which journalists were admitted.

One of the captives said that he was whipped with a wire, and the resulting wounds sprinkled with salt. Another said that people captured him tried to tear out their legs on their feet, Interfax reports.

BBC notes that last week it became known about the bunker in Baghdad , in which there were more than 170 prisoners. All of them suffer from malnutrition, traces of torture are visible on their bodies.

BBC reports that the captives were now transferred from the Bunker of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and there were no traces of what they had to go through. However, journalists tell, the smell of a crowded room still hung in the four rooms that were shown to journalists.

The Iraqi general admitted that some prisoners have a rash on the skin, some suffer from diarrhea. He also stated that one of the prisoners was paralyzed, but added that this happened before he arrived in the bunker.

In another center of detention, one of the prisoners said that he was tortured, exposing the genitals by current. To the question of British journalists who were still tortured, many prisoners raised their hands. At the same time, the premises in the center of the content were so crowded that there were no sitting places for all prisoners, not to mention the bedridden.

Recall that last week the US military conducted an operation, which was preceded by repeated appeals of relatives of the missing Iraqis, mostly very young.

The prisoners were discovered on Sunday by American soldiers in one of the buildings belonging to the Iraq Ministry of Internal Affairs. At first, the arriving Americans found a 40 man. However, moving around the building and opening the doors one after another, they found dozens of prisoners, many of whom were in poor physical condition. They had obvious traces of torture and hunger. Most of them were Sunnis.

It seems that this prison is a new version of Abu Graib, the infamous Baghdad prison, where American soldiers mocked the Iraqis and removed their humiliations on the camera, wrote the British newspaper The Times.

The Prime Minister of Iraq Ibrahim Jaafari promised to find those responsible for these abuses. According to Jaafari, one of his deputies and several ministers will investigate about two weeks.
