
In the near future, the United States can provide Ukraine with the status of a country with a market economy. This opinion was expressed by US Secretary of State Kondoliza Rice after meeting with Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko on Wednesday.
“We hope that we can successfully and quickly advance in this matter,” Rice said at a briefing for journalists.
According to her, the US Department of Trade is engaged in the procedure that determines the provision of the status of a country with a market economy. "Representatives of our Ministry of Trade will be here in the near future in order to continue to continue these negotiations on the provision of Ukraine status with market economies," quoted US Secretary of State RIA Novosti .
Earlier, President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko stated that "it will be necessary for the registration of technical procedures for granting status for one to two months."
The officials of the European Union have already agreed to recognize the economy of Ukraine market, but the procedure has not yet been completed due to bureaucratic procedures.
