The story of the shooting at the Miami airport ended in tragedy. Two aviation security agents shot and killed 44-year-old Rigoberto Alpizar. Before the American Airlines flight took off from Miami to Orlando, he said he had a bomb in his bag and rushed to the exit. Armed plainclothes agents inside the plane opened fire. At the entrance to the ramp connecting the plane and the airport, Alpizar fell dead. Five bullets hit him. No bomb was found on the dead man. But the police thoroughly figured out where exactly Alpizar was killed. If still on the plane, then the FBI should investigate the case, and if already on the ramp, then the Miami police. This was the first time that agents of the Transportation Security Administration, which was reformed after the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, used weapons.
According to his wife, Alpizar suffered from manic-depressive “bipolar disorder” and simply “didn’t take his medications.” The unfortunate man was born in Costa Rica; 20 years ago he married an American and moved to the suburbs of Orlando. "He was very proud to be an American and to vote," his cousin said.
