Music "especially"

At the Central House of Sciences, the presentation of the album of Leonid Fedorov and Vladimir Volkov “Bezonders” was held to the verses of the famous Oberiut Alexander Vvedensky.

The legendary leader of the Auctsyon, one of the main representatives of the Russian avant -garde scene, boldly interfering with the musical and linguistic experiment, the gloomy stem and foolishness, and the leader of the Petersburg neojazer group “Volkov -Trio” presented their next joint project - the Album “Nevonders” (Besonders - “Especially” ) for Vvedensky poems.

There was almost no music as such. The guitar of Fedorova deliberately rattled, he rushed about a small scene from one microphone to another, pronouncing the words of absurd poetry (“I dressed the plague like a boot”), rang with tambourines and knocked on the drum. And if he sang, then only a low deep voice, not otherwise - a Siberian taiga man or a shaman, while dressed in baggy pants and an “ethnic” spacious shirt. The “secular” wolves opposed the quarry and angular Fedorov, but only until the moment when he himself began to torment his smuggling, extracting a rattle from him, a screech and a uterine hum.

After one or two songs, it was difficult to present these two in the “household” setting - it seemed that they left the taiga twilight and return from the Central House of Artists right there, home to a dense forest.

At the same time, Fedorov’s experiments with ethnic culture are not a notorious flirting with popular populism and, moreover, not New Age. In form - these are hints of traditional harmony, a long manner of performance. Fedorov does not just perform songs in the “ethnic” manner. It seems that he found a nerve of some uterine ancient consciousness and now draws him to the display of the public flowing into a trans (there was, of course, a full house). There are Russian folk traditions, and Siberian shamanism, and even interspersed by Indian rag - a non -laid smuggle is very suitable.

It is difficult to say that the musicians sought to achieve just such an “ethnic” effect, but if we talk about a space where modern avant -garde and traditional culture could meet, then, without a doubt, the new music of Leonid Fedorov. Something special.
