The pharmacies of Chelyabinsk refused to sell medicinal drugs to minors, which can be used to make narcotic substances, the representative of the State Directorate of the State Directorate for the Chelyabinsk Region told Interfax.

As the agency’s interlocutor explained, voluntary restrictions on their sale were introduced by pharmacists at the numerous requests of citizens. "Dozens of calls from the city residents who report groups of adolescents making narcotic substances from ordinary drugs for colds and other diseases come to the hotline telephone line of the state -hand control line daily," he said.

According to pharmacists, most pharmacies have a constant clientele of adolescents purchasing the same drugs allowed for free sale, and in addition to them syringes.

"To date, the legislation does not provide for restrictions on the sale of these drugs. At the same time, given the growth of drug consumption among adolescents, the heads of the Chelyabinsk pharmacy network voluntarily introduced restrictions on the sale of such drugs to minors," the agency’s interlocutor said.

According to the children's narcological department of the Chelyabinsk Regional Hospital, about 30 drug addicts are registered with narcologists. About 2 thousand of their peers are noticed in the use of narcotic substances.
