17-year-old Sasha Martynenko from Kfar Saba, who 9 years ago moved with her parents from Ukraine to Israel, became the winner of the prestigious contest "Israeli Model 2006". The girl gave an interview with Newsru Israel , in which she talked about the competition and plans for the future.

The competition "Model of Israel 2006" began in November last year. Thousands of applicants came to the Roberto agency. After preliminary tours, only twenty girls were selected to participate in the competition. The ceremony of presenting awards to the winner was shown on the 10th channel of Israeli television.

As Sasha said, in the summer she sunbathed on the beach, and a young man came up to her who asked if she was busy in the modeling business. Then he proposed to come to the Roberto agency, which is engaged in the set and promoting of new fashion models. After long thoughts, Sasha and his father decided to go and see what kind of organization it was. Soon, Sasha has concluded a contract with the agency for three years and received several business offers, starred in Castro’s advertising magazines, in jewelry advertising and other projects.

According to Sasha, among 20 applicants for victory in the competition were mostly indigenous Israeli, but there were girls who came from Russia. Then hard work began, together the girls starred for newspapers and magazines, employees of the 10th television channel, choreographer and other specialists were engaged in them.

Most of the filming of the program fell on the hanucal holidays, so Sasha missed not too much at school.

The shooting of the award ceremony was supposed to take place on January 5, but they were postponed due to Ariel Sharon's illness. On the 10th channel, the final was broadcast on January 14. In fact, the shooting was the 9th, on the birthday of Sasha. Only five contestants participated in the final.

The fact that Sasha became the winner, she found out, sitting at the TV screen with her family on January 14, since at the very final three girls chosen for three prizes did not say who won.
