Drivers of Novosibirsk held a protest against the sentence to Oleg Shcherbinsky

About a hundred people took part in the picket organized by the Novosibirsk branch of the public organization of car owners "Freedom of choice" in protest against the sentence Oleg Shcherbinsky, convicted of the accident in which the Altai governor Mikhail Evdokimov died.

According to Interfax, the picket passed within an hour on the central square of Novosibirsk (Lenin Square). The car owners held in their hands the posters "cancel the illegal sentence to Oleg Shcherbinsky", "I, you, we are all Shcherbinsky." One of the participants in the picket was in a stylized striped prisoner robe with a number and trousers, his hands were constrained by a chopper of shackles.

As the coordinator of the local organization of car owners “Freedom of choice” Yuri Nikiforov told reporters, the purpose of the picket is to attract public attention to the situation with the convicts of Shcherbinsky.

"We believe that attracting public attention will help to justify an innocent person," he said. According to Nikiforov, motorists have serious doubts about the validity of the sentence, especially since the process took place closed. "The case of Shcherbinsky is not a special case at all. The arbitrariness of officials on the roads returns the country to feudal order," he said.

Nikiforov also said that next week the lawyers of Shcherbinsky, sentenced to 4 years of the colony, the Zonal district court of the Altai Territory on February 3, should come to Novosibirsk. Any violations of public order during the action have not been recorded.
