Albert Demchenko became "silver"

The Russian Sledalnik Albert Demchenko became the silver medalist of the 2006 Olympics. On the second day of the competition, Albert won both races (one even with the track record), however, the advantage of the Italian Armin Tsoggeler, which was obtained by him, provided the championship title to the owner of the highway.

On Saturday, Tsoggeller was stronger in every attempt, and in the second race he set a track record (51.414 seconds) - this allowed him to come off from Demchenko, who did not use his race in more than a half tenths of a second.

On the second day of the races, the Italian, which opened the races, showed a little worse than the previous achievement - 51.430, but Albert was not at a loss and immediately after Armin once again updated the route - 51,396, thus reducing the overall lag from the competitor.

The last attempt was in the reverse order: Demchenko started the penultimate, the Italian - the last. Our Sledon managed to play 14 thousandths of a second, but for a common victory this was clearly not enough.

As a result, Tsoggeler has “gold”, Demchenko has “silver”, and the Latvians Martins Rubenis have “bronze”.
