A delegation of the radical Hamas party will arrive in Moscow on March 3. This was announced by official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Mikhail Kamynin. He did not rule out that the head of the ministry, Sergei Lavrov, would meet with Hamas. As Alexander Kalugin, the special representative of the Foreign Ministry for Middle East settlement, previously stated, “the Hamas delegation will most likely be headed by the head of the political department of the movement, Khaled Meshal.” The ministry acknowledges the importance of the visit, noting that “it is not yet clear how ready Hamas is to recognize Israel.”
