The workers of the Voronezh excavator plant announced an indefinite hunger strike due to non -payment of wages. Near the starving are representatives of the enterprise's medical units.
So far, four workers of the 2nd workshops of the enterprise are participating in the hunger strike, but, according to representatives of the labor collective, in the coming days the number of participants in this action can increase significantly. About 1300 people work at the plant. On Thursday, part of the labor collective intends to hold an action demanding the resignation of the current management of the enterprise.

"On February 22, the same prosecutor's office opened a criminal case under Article 196 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (deliberate bankruptcy) against the former general director of OJSC Voronezh excavator plant," Gorshkova said. Earlier, the prosecutor’s office sent to the courts of “more than 60 claims” to recover debt to employees of the excavator plant. “All these claims were satisfied with the courts,” she said.
As the deputy head of the administration of the Voronezh region, Vyacheslav Kleimenov, commented on the situation, "one of the city -forming enterprises turned out to be under the threat of liquidation." The most important thing today, he believes, "this is the coming to the enterprise of an effective investor."
