
Unknown attackers tried to set fire to the house of the Crimean journalist Lily Budzhurova in Simferopol, said Alexander Dombrovsky, head of the Center for Public Relations of the Main Directorate of Ukraine in Crimea, said on Wednesday.
According to him, the attackers doused the garage of a private house of a journalist, who is located under the house and set fire to him with the combustible material of the door of the garage of a private house. This happened on Wednesday night. As the operatives found out, at the time of the arson, the journalist was not at home, and her car did not stand in the garage. The flame was noticed by the family journalists who were in the house. The fire was eliminated in time, Interfax reports.
According to Dombrovsky, the Railway District Department of Internal Affairs of Simferopol is currently conducting a preliminary verification of this incident. The issue of initiating a criminal case will, in accordance with the law, be decided within 3 days.
The representative of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Crimea also emphasized that the version of whether this incident is related to the professional activities of the journalist will be in the near future to check law enforcement officers.
In turn, Budzhurova herself reminded the agency that he was the chairman of the Association of Free Journalists of Crimea. According to her, if at the time of arson in the garage there was a car, then the consequences of the fire could be much more serious.
Budzhurova works at the State Television and Radio Company "Crimea", and is also a correspondent of the STB television channel in Crimea. In addition, she edits the popular Crimean weekly called "First Crimean".
