
On Wednesday, the Khari County Court sentenced the former head of the drug ministry of the Central Criminal Police of Commissioner Vallo Jaratsa to four years in prison.
According to the court, during the closed process, Jarats arrested in May last year was accused of abuse of official position, illegally conducting the investigation and involvement in the drug business, RIA Novosti reports.
In particular, the fault of Jarats was proved in the failure of the joint operation of the Estonian and Finnish police against dealership businessmen in 2002. Jarats announced the upcoming operation to his friend, who had a relationship with the drug business and he warned of the operation of criminals in Finland in a timely manner.
The former police commissar was also found guilty of receiving remuneration from criminals for the transfer of their official police and drug trafficking.
The 33-year-old ex-Commissioner of the police Vallo Jarats is well known in Estonia. Over several years of his police department, more than ten underground drug laboratories have been liquidated and record -based batches of narcotic substances were confiscated.
