
The Belarusian hockey federation with a puck (BFH) after serious thoughts withdrew an application for the 2008 youth world championship and the 2011 adult World Cup.
According to BelTA agency in the BFH, an official letter about this was sent to the International Hockey Federation ( IIHF ).
The letter notes that at the present stage, our country considers the priority task to gain proper experience and improve infrastructure for conducting competitions of such a high level.
Based on the analysis of the organization of previous international hockey tournaments, the BFH believes that they should be entrusted only to federations, which proved the ability of the impeccable conduct of world championships.
At the same time, the Belarusian side will gladly accept the IIHF proposals for organizing tournaments interesting to Belarusian fans. "They will help to gain the necessary experience in order to then claim championships with the participation of the best hockey players of the planet," the letter says.
