Parliamentary elections are held for the first time after amendments to the Constitution, providing for the transition from the Presidential and Parliamentary form of government to parliamentary and presidential. The Verkhovna Rada should gather at the first session no later than the thirtieth day after the official publication of the election results, that is, no later than May 15.

Based on the results of the elections, based on the coordination of political positions in parliament, within one month from the date of the opening of the first meeting, the coalition of deputy factions should be formed, which includes the parliamentary majority, that is, at least 226 deputies.

The coalition of the factions makes proposals to the president on the candidates of the Prime Minister and the Cabinet of Ministers. If the coalition is not formed within one month, the president has the right to terminate the powers of the Verkhovna Rada ahead of schedule.
