The International Boxing Federation (IBF) offered the former absolute champion in the first welterweight champion to Konstantin Tszyu a duel for the vacant IBF title in this weight with the fifth rating of this organization by Laumor NDU. This title became vacant after Ricky Hatton moved from last June last June to the next weight category, reports Allboxing .
“Given the fact that Ricky Hatton released the title, we would like to see the costume in battle for the title that he already owned several times. He remains one of the most popular Australian athletes and despite his defeat from Hatton, he can still defeat most boxers of this weight,” said IBF Ray Witley representative.
The prospect of a meeting with his old Sparring partner NDU in battle for the title did not leave Tsi indifferent, but he doubts that he could meet the framework of the first middle weight.
“If I go out to the ring, it will be a welterweight,” said Tszyu. “And perhaps it will be the winner of the fight between Floyd Mevezer and the Failure of Juda. I don’t think that it will be smart on my part to be again in the first welterweight. I have played in this weight since 1992 ... Now I am no longer the same. During these 14 years I have been weighing much more.”
However, despite the fact that Tszyu did not exclude the possibility of his return to the ring, his most important goal at the moment, according to him, is the victory in the Dancing with The Stars contest (the Russian analogue of this show “Dancing with the Stars” was recently shown on the RTR channel), in which he had already passed six stages along with his partner Lyudmila.
