In Karelia, the court recognized the warrior of the war veteran who died 19 years ago by a disabled person

The court of the Medvezhyegorsky district of Karelia on the eve of the 61st anniversary of Victory satisfied the statement of the Republican prosecutor’s office on recognition by a disabled by the Great Patriotic War of a front-line soldier, who died 19 years ago.

As Interfax was told in the prosecutor's office, a resident of Karelia Mikhail Leontyev participated in the hostilities from 1941 to 1945 and received several serious injuries, but after the war he did not submit documents from modesty for disability.

For this reason, after the death of her husband in 1987, his wife for a long time could not get the status of the widow of a disabled person of the Great Patriotic War.

In 2005, on the basis of available certificates of husband’s military wounds, the widow issued an appropriate certificate. However, after some time, officials seized the certificate and demanded to confirm the grounds for receiving it, and the widow ceased to receive material support laid under the law.

After the intervention of the district prosecutor’s office, a medical and social examination was conducted, which determined that at present Mikhail Leontyev would have had legal grounds for recognizing him by a disabled person of the Great Patriotic War.

By a court decision, the claims of the prosecutor were satisfied. Mikhail Leontyev is recognized as a disabled war.
