The young prince, of course, previously spoke out in the sense that he was not going to tie the knot until he was 28-30 years old. However, a long-term romantic relationship with Miss Middleton, which has lasted since 2002 and last fall moved into the stage that common people would call simply a civil marriage, indicates that the emergence of a new princess among the Windsors is not far off. And the recent family celebration on the occasion of the wedding of Prince Charles’s stepdaughter Laura Parker-Bowles, where William and Kate appeared together, once again convinced the British that the prince’s girlfriend was not only admitted to court, but also accepted into the family of Her Majesty Elizabeth II, who , according to rumors, she herself gave the girl several lessons in palace etiquette.
The reputation that Kay Middleton is now creating in the British press could perhaps be envied even by the late Princess Diana, with whom, in fact, Prince William’s chosen one is compared. The modest girl, who studied art history at university, allegedly charmed Queen Elizabeth and her eldest son Charles. The royal court, which previously tried to normalize information about William's private life in the press, began to allow leaks about the prince's relationship with Miss Middleton. Sources from Buckingham Palace say that in the royal family "everyone admires her natural beauty and personal qualities." The popularity of the recent university graduate is also growing. It is possible, however, that the matter is not only in the strength of Miss Middleton’s charm, under which Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh Philip fell, but also in their concern for maintaining the reputation of the royal family. Despite the fact that Prince Charles is still considered the heir to the throne, many Britons would prefer that the throne be taken by his eldest son, whose moral character, thanks to the special PR policy of Buckingham Palace, has never been called into question. Prince William, although considered a heartthrob, has never been publicly involved in scandals, unlike, say, his younger brother Harry. And a wedding with a girl, albeit not from an aristocratic, but from a respected British family, which promises to become the most striking family celebration of the Windsors in the quarter of a century that has passed since Charles’s marriage to Diana Spencer, from a reputational point of view, looks like a very worthy continuation of the biography of the heir to the most famous surviving European monarchies.
