The Hydrometeorological Center of the Russian Federation will try to prepare an accurate weather forecast for the G8 summit in St. Petersburg

The Hydrometeorological Center of the Russian Federation is preparing to ensure the meteorological information of the Big Eight summit. “We are preparing to ensure the summit of the most accurate, detailed information on whether there will be flooding, what processes in the atmosphere are expected,” Roman Wilfand, director of the Hydrometeorological Center of the Russian Federation, said at a press conference in Moscow.

According to him, at present, the work of his department is largely aimed at the weather forecast in St. Petersburg, observation meteorological systems are being repaired in order to get full-fledged radar and satellite information, Interfax reports.

“We are now analyzing all the flooding of St. Petersburg in the last 20 years and reproduce on archival material to accurately predict the possibility of flooding,” said the director of the hydrometeorological center.

The hydrometeorological center, according to its leader, will pay a lot of attention to the weather forecast in the airfield area so that the aircraft took off and landing successfully. “We are preparing for this very intensively,” Wilfand said.
