The results of the elections in Russia can soon be traced using mobile phones

The Chairman of the Central Election Commission of Russia Alexander Veshnyakov proposed using mobile phones in the election, with which observers and journalists will be able to follow the voting results.

The new technology will avoid frauds during the votes of votes, said the chairman of the Central Election Commission in Krasnoyarsk at a meeting meeting in the Legislative Assembly of the Territory. According to Veshnyakov, by sending an SMS message, it will be possible to find out the voting results at the current moment in a certain polling station. Then these figures can be compared with the reports of observers who monitor the process of counting the votes, the Siberian News Agency reports.

Alexander Veshnyakov is sure that in this way it is impossible to artificially add or take the votes of voters.

For the first time, this technology will be applied in elections to the Legislative Assembly of the Krasnoyarsk Territory on April 15, 2007. According to Veshnyakov, "observers and the media can take advantage of the new scheme." Such a system will work on the night of voting, reports ITAR-TASS.
