"The Javanese Makak family, which has been living in the zoo, has been providing people with psychological assistance for several years. The most frequent patients of these animals are men at the so -called transition - 40-45 years old, as well as young girls," says Koshenovskaya, director of the Vitebsk zoo, Koshenovskaya.

According to her, "people come to an appointment with monkeys for a kind of support." “In the room where the family of primates lives, you can come, sit, tell about your troubles and problems, they can cry, express resentment, and even shout,” Koshenovskaya explains.

She noted that "for help to the monkey family, people come almost every day." "There were times when officials came to remove stress and get psychological support to distant ancestors who had problems at work. And communication with monkeys helped them," the director of the zoo notes.

"Such unusual popularity of the zoological office of psychological and rehabilitation assistance is probably that, using the example of a monkey family, people see how a person has violated the laws of nature," Koshenovskaya said.

She explained that "monkeys still live according to the laws of the Patriarchate, where the continuity of generations is strong, there is harsh obedience, care for the younger generation and a clear separation of the sexes."

The Vitebsk zoo has existed for about 18 years, and in it, as its director notes, "mostly animals and birds live, which once fell into trouble or were abandoned."
