Alexander Tsarovtsev and the group “Pilgrim” (Israel). Tsarovtsev began as a blues and jazz vocalist, one English critic even called him the Jewish Ray Charles, took part in concerts of the Leningrad Rock Club, and in 1987 became a laureate of the First All-Union Blues Festival. In parallel, a semi-underground part of his work was his fascination with the Jewish song tradition.
