| Three people were killed in a gas explosion in Moscow The names of those injured in a gas explosion early on Friday morning in house number 1 on Vnukovskaya Street in Moscow have become known. Seven people were taken to hospitals with various injuries.
Among them: Ekaterina Andreeva, 65 years old - taken with burns to the Sklifosofsky Institute of Emergency Medicine. Andreev Boris Stepanovich, 65 years old - with injuries of varying severity, placed in the 17th city hospital.
Also taken to the 17th city hospital with carbon monoxide poisoning and nervous disorders: Bogrovsky Anatoly Vasilievich (74 years old), Sedunova Tatyana Vasilievna (82 years old), Petrova Anastasia Mikhailovna (84 years old) and Anishina Anna Egorovna (83 years old).
The name of the other victim has not yet been established.
Three apartments located on top of each other - 9th, 13th and 17th - were completely destroyed. According to preliminary data, the epicenter of the explosion was in the 13th apartment on the fourth floor, but only an expert examination can determine the exact location of the explosion. The Andreevs, who lived in apartment 17, located on the fifth floor above apartment 13, suffered the most.
The investigation is inclined to believe that the explosion occurred due to a violation of safety regulations when replacing gas pipes, which was carried out the day before.
At the same time, the gas service workers who carried out work in this entrance claim that the residents of the destroyed apartments did not open their doors on Thursday, but now it is impossible to either confirm or refute this information.
On Friday morning in the west of Moscow in the village of Vnukovo, a gas exploded in a five-story residential building. Three people died. As a representative of the Ministry of Emergency Situations said, five victims were sent to the 17th hospital, another to the Sklifosovsky Research Institute of Emergency Medicine. Two of the wounded are in serious condition.
The explosion occurred at about 6:30 am in house number 11. The epicenter of the explosion was on the third floor of a five-story building, in the corner entrance. As a result of the explosion, the external panel walls there were destroyed from the third to fifth floors. Part of the ceilings collapsed. After the explosion, a fire started, which was assigned the second complexity number on a 5-point scale. 15 fire crews extinguished the fire. By 8 a.m., firefighters managed to localize the fire and put it out an hour and a half later.
30 people were evacuated from the five-story building. According to preliminary data, the cause of the explosion was a domestic gas leak. The Moscow City Internal Affairs Directorate rules out a criminal version of the explosion. “The nature of the destruction and the first testimony of eyewitnesses indicate that a domestic gas explosion occurred,” said a representative of the Central Internal Affairs Directorate. According to residents, they heard a loud bang, after which the walls in the house began to collapse and a fire started. It is noteworthy that only the previous evening work was carried out in this house to replace gas equipment.
Residents of the house will initially be accommodated in a hotel at the VARZ-400 plant. RIA Novosti was informed about this by the Vnukovo district administration. “So far we are talking about only 30 residents who have expressed a desire to stay in a hotel, it is possible that the figure will change,” the agency’s interlocutor noted.
