| In one day, eight people suffered at the hands of nationalists in Moscow On Saturday, the capital's nationalists carried out a full-fledged raid in the city against “non-Russians.” As it turned out yesterday, in just one day in different areas, groups of shaven-headed thugs staged several attacks, as a result of which at least eight people from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan were injured. The main events took place in the capital's subway. Considering that such cases are happening more and more often in the Moscow metro this year, it is quite possible that it may soon lose its status as one of the safest places in the city. In addition, Saturday's events contradict the statements of law enforcement officials, who have so far stubbornly insisted that nationalist antics are not organized, but purely spontaneous and everyday in nature.
The authorities have not yet discussed how organized all these Nazi antics were. But they recognized the motive of national hatred in the emergency that occurred on Saturday at the Kuznetsky Most metro station, where five Armenians and Azerbaijanis were injured. Yesterday, this criminal case was reclassified from the article “hooliganism” to “incitement of national hatred or enmity.”
As one of the victims, 23-year-old builder Varazdat Hakobyan, told Vremya Novostey, the incident occurred at about five o’clock in the evening. Together with him at that moment were two of his friends - the Chopikyan brothers, Edgar and Vagharshak. According to the victims, skinheads, including girls, entered the carriage at the Kitay-Gorod metro station. “There were about 20 of them. At first they looked at us, and when the train started moving, one of them shouted: “Start” and “Beat the Caucasians!”, after which they began to beat us, shouting nationalist slogans. Some of them had knives,” Mr. Hakobyan recalls. At the Kuznetsky Most metro station, the thugs got out of the car and, seeing third-year students of the Russian State Trade University Vacheg Thomasyan and Anar Aliyev on the platform, immediately attacked them. The skinheads, despite the large number of people on the platform, beat up the teenagers, after which they freely walked out of the metro station onto the street, where, according to witnesses, after talking, they divided into several groups and went in different directions.
Two people were seriously injured as a result of the attack. Varazdat Hakobyan received two stab wounds - in the back and neck. Vacheg Tomasyan was stabbed in the arm and suffered nerve damage. “For four hours, doctors from the Sklifosovsky Institute operated on him. The young man's condition is serious. Doctors say that his arm will no longer function normally,” said the victims’ advocate Simon Tsaturyan.
The leader of the Union of Armenians of Russia (UAR), Ara Abrahamyan, in turn, said that he was in the prosecutor’s office, where he was informed that law enforcement agencies had video recordings from the crime scene, and also that the perpetrators would soon be identified and detained. “I want to hope that it will be so, but I’m not sure about it. Let us remember the murder of student Vigen Abrahamyants in April of this year at the Pushkinskaya metro station. Then the police also said that they had a recording and that it would not be difficult to find the killer. But in the end, the tape with this particular recording disappeared somewhere, and the detained teenager incriminated himself. I want to understand how such crimes occur in the very center of Moscow and what the police are doing at this time? The scum who remained unpunished are proud of what they did, of not being caught, and will prepare new crimes,” said Mr. Abrahamyan. In addition, he said that the information that has appeared about the detention of one of the participants in the attack on the Caucasians, a 24-year-old resident of Lipetsk, does not correspond to reality.
On the same day, two more similar emergencies occurred in Moscow. At about 16.00 on Pokrovsky Boulevard, 30-year-old resident of Kazakhstan Amantay Erbozov, a student of advanced training courses at the Military Engineering Academy of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, was stabbed in the back. When the officer walked past a group of teenagers, they began to insult him. Mr. Erbozov made a remark to the young people, and they attacked him. Last night, the Moscow prosecutor's office announced the arrest of four of the six attackers.
