In issue 27, Novaya began its own study of inflationary processes in the country. Recall that, not having the capabilities and methodology of Rosstat, we consider the so-called personal inflation, that is, the change in prices for goods that our correspondents buy every day in different regions of the country. This time, in addition to the summary data for the second quarter of 2006, we offer you other socially significant information: on the income of state employees and officials, the amount of rent and other utilities.
Dynamics of Food Prices in Some Russian Cities in April—June 2006
Note: Bold indicates goods that have increased in price, italics indicate goods that have fallen in price.
(TABLE)
According to the Ministry of Finance, inflation slowed down significantly in June and amounted to only 0.3%, which gives a more or less decent half-year result of 6.2%.
It is impossible to draw global conclusions based on the information of our correspondents, because in different regions prices are dancing: somewhere a double-digit decrease, somewhere a double-digit increase. Although the general trend towards a seasonal slowdown in price growth is still visible.
At the same time, it would be incorrect to talk about a decrease in inflation due to the disappearance of certain groups of goods from the shelves: the same vodka, after entrepreneurs deal with the new legislation, will appear in stores, only it will cost much more.
