| Mass anti-government protests in Tbilisi. About 800 people gathered outside the courthouse yesterday, where the verdict was announced yesterday for four Interior Ministry officers accused of killing a bank clerk in January following an argument in a bar. One of them received eight years in prison, the rest - seven. Relatives of the deceased demanded that those who are called the masterminds of this crime be brought to justice. Among them are the wife of the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and several officials of this department, who were also in the bar on the evening of the murder. This action then merged with another rally - near Tbilisi University. During the week, part of the teaching staff protests against, from their point of view, ill-conceived reforms in the field of education. Protests supported by the opposition will continue.
