Rock music in the capital and at a safe distance from it

This coming weekend, July 22-23, a rock festival will take place in the village of Emmaus. Not “Invasion” - it has now moved from the Tver region, where it lived sprawlingly in the past, to a place with an equally expressive name in Ryazan.

And at the Emmaus festival, on two stages for two days, you will be able to enjoy the work of numerous groups, including giants of Russian rock culture (Leningrad, Alisa, Vopli Vidoplyasova, Naiv, Chaif, “Spleen”, etc.), as well as lesser-known groups (“Oshten”, “Beginning of the Century”, “Beavers”, “Kedry Otters”, “Carthage Has Fallen”, etc.). At night at the festival, for those who cannot sleep, music will be replaced by cinema. The following films will be shown: “Tin”, “Antikiller”, “Antikiller-2”, “April” and fragments of the new film “Paragraph”. The organizers warn that it is prohibited to bring into the festival grounds any drinks in any container, canned food, alcohol, weapons and other sharp objects, medicines (except for vital ones, and only with a doctor’s certificate), and pet rats, cats and dogs. Instead, you should take a passport, medical insurance, cell phone, money for food and warm clothes, since the weather is not going to be particularly pleasant.

In the capital itself, on July 26, at the Olimpiysky sports complex, Sting’s concert will take place as part of the world tour Broken Music Tour. Although this is not Sting’s first visit to Moscow, it should be pleasant to listen to the world-famous musician - at the concert in support of the latest album, in addition to old hits, listeners will be treated to new songs. Sting's opening act is going to be the band Fiction Plane, whose vocalist and guitarist is none other than the musician's eldest son.

For those who don’t want to leave the city somewhere at all, but would rather visit the stadium festival and hear many people at once, the “Wings” festival awaits in Tushino on July 29 and 30. The list of participants here is very solid and even with an intelligent slant: “Kalinov Bridge”, Armen Grigoryan and “3' Angel”, “Picnic”, “Auktsion”, “Time Machine”, “Chizh and Kyo”, Zdob si Zdub, OK Go (USA), N&SK (France), “Ocean Elzy”, Soulfly (Brazil).

On August 3, a charity concert by the famous British rock musician and guitar virtuoso Eric Clapton will take place on Vasilyevsky Spusk. Eric Clapton comes to Russia for the first time; his concert takes place as part of a European tour that began in Paris back in May and covered 14 countries. In Moscow, the musician will perform The Best Of program, which will open the Moscow-Taganrog bike ride, which was initiated by the famous athlete, winner of the New York marathon “Man of the Planet” Sergei Burlakov - athletes with disabilities take part in the bike marathon. American band Robert Cray Band will perform as Clapton's opening act. Lazy music lovers can then still go to the eighth live music festival “Invasion”. This year it will take place on August 4, 5 and 6 at Cape Mediterranean, which is not at all where you think, but on the Oka River, near Ryazan. During these three days, three stages will operate simultaneously: central, northern and southern. The festival's headliners, whose music is heard on Nashe Radio, will perform on the central stage; on the southern stage, artists will present light, sunny music; large acoustic programs and full-fledged solo live concerts will be held here. The northern area will concentrate “heavy” bands playing punk rock, alternative, heavy metal and electronic music. Among the participants are the best rock bands in the country, as well as teams playing alternative music from folk, reggae, electronics to hard hardcore (“Kipelov”, “Chaif”, “Alice”, “King and the Clown”, “ Aria", "Spleen", "Ocean Elzy", "Agatha Christie", "Pilot", "Bi-2", "My Leg Cramped!", "Night Snipers", Pelageya, Lyapis Trubetskoy, Pavel Kashin, Inna Zhelannaya and many other).

Well, those who are not at all attracted by all this fatal diversity can be patient - we are promised a performance in Moscow by Madonna herself. So far, only the approximate date of the event has been announced - September 12, the place of the performance is being specified. But the arrival of such a megastar is worth the wait and nervousness.
