The lawsuit disputes the publication of the beating of human rights activist Nikolai Skachkov by police officers. How law enforcement officers defend their reputation, which they valued at 300 thousand rubles, is clearly seen from the monthly chronicle of events:
On June 13, the main witness, who is also the defendant, Aleksey Kuryanov, was arrested and sent to a pre-trial detention center, in whose statements it is said that he was tortured to extract confessions in 12 crimes he did not commit.
On June 14, a car was detained “for speeding” in which 12 witnesses headed by a human rights activist were getting to court from different villages in the district.
On June 20, human rights activist Nikolai Skachkov was detained and taken to the Sargat District Department of Internal Affairs. The reason for the detention is the decision of the regional court to send him for a psychiatric examination. This is the third attempt by law enforcement officers to declare Nikolai Skachkov crazy. The diagnosis made to him earlier is "a heightened sense of justice."
On June 22, Nikolai Skachkov was detained again. He was rescued from the Department of Internal Affairs of the Central District by the chairman of the regional Public Chamber Vladimir Kozlov and human rights activist Valentin Kuznetsov. The motives of the policemen are clear. The fact is that only Skachkov is able to collect all the witnesses living at a distance of tens of kilometers from each other.
On July 2, officers of the Internal Affairs Directorate burst into the office of Vladimir Kozlov, who part-time heads a garage cooperative, and, without presenting any documents, seize property, documents, and money. The chairman is taken to the Department of Economic Crime, released around midnight, without giving him a summons, no inventory of the seized, no protocol.
On July 4, people in civilian clothes beat Valentin Kuznetsov, the chairman of the trade union of motor carriers "Coachman", who had repeatedly helped us to deliver witnesses to the city.

After spending the night there, he goes to Nazyvaevsk (at the rate of the train), hoping that the “tail” is no longer behind him. But on the platform at the entrance to the car he was met by seven policemen. He was held in the regional police department for 8 hours. Until the lawyer calls. Skachkov was released on bail, without a passport. The militia left no traces of arbitrariness: everything was done with "clean hands" - without agendas and protocols.
