Richard Bona and "Huun-Huur-Tu". Bona is one of the best jazz bassists of the younger generation. A native of a remote African village, he became known to the general public after working with Joe Zawinul. Since then, Bona has been actively working with world jazz stars, while remaining an absolutely unique and original figure. Bon's solo work is mainly jazz-rock mixed with sophisticated ethnic material. "Huun-Huur-Tu" is the world's most famous ensemble of throat singing masters. Over the ten years of existence, the performers managed to work with such musicians as Frank Zappa, Cronos Quartet, Stevie Wonder. "Huun-Huur-Tu", performing ancient, traditional songs, actively combine their music with modern styles and instruments. August 4 in the Hermitage Garden.

Many faces of Asia. This weekend's Ethnoland festival, the countryside equivalent of the Island of Light, showcases the cultures of China, Mongolia and Japan. Starting Friday, real tea ceremonies will be held in Sorochany, Japanese theater will be shown, and masquerade processions will walk through the hills. The fair will feature works by famous Chinese calligraphers and artists. The musical component of the festival includes concerts by the Moscow group Secon Hand Band and performances by the Beijing Opera ensemble . August 4-6 in Sorochany.
