
In the Altai Territory, commemorative events are held today dedicated to the anniversary of the death in the car accident of Governor Mikhail Evdokimov.
According to RIA Novosti in the press service of the regional administration, a memorial complex was opened at the scene of the accident near the village of Pleshkovo.
An open chapel was built here in the name of St. Archangel Michael. The project of the chapel was developed by Altai architects. The customer was a businessman from Belgorod, who wished to remain an unknown. The rank of consecration of the chapel will be committed today.
After that, a memorial plaque at the Mikhail Evdokimov school will be opened in his native village of Verkh-Oobskoye. A mourning rally will take place in the cemetery in Verkh-Obsk.
In commemorative events, the current head of the administration of the Territory Alexander Karlin will take part.
Mikhail Evdokimov died on August 7, 2005 in a car accident. On the Biysk -Barnaul highway, at a bend to the village of Pleshko, the car in which the governor was located, flew out of the road and crashed into a tree at high speed. The driver and guard of Evdokimov were also killed.
