| "Hermitage" opened the season The chief director of the Hermitage Theater Mikhail Levitin has big plans - three premieres are expected in the new season. The first (tentatively October-November) will be the play “On the Essence of Love”, staged by Mayakovsky - lyrics, poems, tragedy “Vladimir Mayakovsky”. The pre-war Soviet era (which Levitin has long been interested in) will appear in a performance dedicated to the history of the creation, life and death of the State Jewish Theater (1919-1949); As the theme obliges (and the tradition of the theater, which regularly organizes song evenings), the performance will be musical. And finally, tired of the terrible Soviet years, the director will try to hide in romantic nonsense - another premiere will be Hoffmann’s evening “The Everyday Views of Murr the Cat.”
This season marks the 25th anniversary of the premiere of the signature performance of the Hermitage - “Kharms! Charms! Shardam! or School of Clowns”: no wonder, it was with this production that the theater began its work. However, the theater has two more anniversary celebrations in its plans: the seventieth birthday of Yuli Kim (with whom the Hermitage has a long-standing and tender friendship) and the sixtieth birthday of Vyacheslav Pietsukh. This is how, apparently, the theater will live all year - rushing from celebrations to rehearsals. And back. Anna GORDEEVA |
