
In the Spanish province of Palencia (Autonomous Region of Castile-Leon), a passenger train came off the rails on Monday. According to preliminary information, as a result of the disaster, eight people died and 37 were injured. Such data were reported by rescuers working at the crash site.
The passenger train followed from the Autonomous Region Galicia through the Spanish country of Basque to the south of France, Interfax reports. The disaster occurred 30 km from the city of Palencia, the capital of the province of the same name.
Rescue work continues - according to some reports, passengers remain locked in the tracks, ITAR -TASS reports. The reasons for the incident are not yet known.
