In early summer, it became known about the plans of the world star Madonna to visit Moscow with the Revelations show as part of a world tour. The highlight of the program is the singer's exit. A sparkling disco ball appears on the stage, unfolding into a flower and a cross decorated with rhinestones, from which the singer descends onto the stage.

Opinions about the upcoming event were divided. The fans are waiting, the clergy urge not to go to concerts, the police are shuffling concert venues. There is chaos and confusion.

The place originally announced on the official website of the star - Sparrow Hills near the building of Moscow University - for security reasons, called into question the Department of Internal Affairs of the Western District. His boss, Alexei Laushkin, told Novaya Gazeta that the final decision that there would be no concert on Sparrow Hills had not yet been made. But, according to preliminary data, the authorities are afraid to arrange a concert at this place. A possible venue for it is Luzhniki or Tushino. But Muscovites associate the Tushino airfield with the annual rock festival, tent camp and countless beer, but not with the performance of world-class stars.

Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus' Alexy II did not express his position in relation to the upcoming concert. However, his official representative, Archpriest Vsevolod Chaplin, who was in the Japanese city of Kyoto at the VIII Assembly of the World Conference of Religions for Peace, expressed a categorically negative position to the Novaya correspondent by phone:

“This lady Ciccone,” says Father Vsevolod, “for many years has been trying to use crosses, rosaries and other Christian symbols in her videos. Now the turn has come to the imitation of self-crucifixion. I'm afraid that this is not just self-promotion, but also a reflection of inner uncertainty: to try to prove to yourself and the whole world that this is something sacred. A believer, of course, will not go to her show, and those who do should think about what they spend their money on.

Note that the Madonna nevertheless performed under the walls of the Vatican, despite the protests of the Pope himself. This means that an absentee inter-confessional duel is being played out before our eyes.

The date of the concert seems very suspicious to both the church and law enforcement agencies - September 11th. The authorities are afraid of the echo of well-known events, and the holy fathers focus on the date and consider the concert of a US citizen blasphemous. However, representatives of the singer explain this incident as a mere coincidence.

The position of the state is not fully known either. Discussion of the singer's plans has moved to the highest level, there are rumors that the president and his daughters may even have dinner with the singer. However, employees of the press service of the presidential administration unanimously declare that "there is no such information and has not been received."

Recall May 2003, when at the opening of the youth forum for high school students "Baltic Star" Lyudmila Putina did not refuse to dance to the song of the foul language Sergei Shnurov (whose concert had been canceled by the Moscow authorities shortly before). The leader of the Leningrad group somehow smoothly and imperceptibly received the status of an official and favorite singer of the elite. So what will happen if the desire to give daughters a gift jumps in our president?

In general, an interesting PR move is visible on the part of Madonna's admirers and a group of her promoters.
