On September 4, sixteen members of the gang, which was called the Tagiryanovskie gang, after the name of the owner of a casino in the city of Nizhnekamsk, Eduard Tagiryanov, who is accused of creating this criminal community, will appear on the dock on September 4. The materials of 35 criminal cases initiated from 1995 to 2003 are combined under one cover. The criminal gang, based in Naberezhnye Chelny and operating in different cities of the country, is accused of 23 murders. Among them is the murder of the editor of the Novaya Gazeta department, Igor Domnikov, committed in Moscow.
In addition to the murders, the gang organized kidnappings for ransom - eight cases are already considered proven. One of the most high-profile crimes of the Tagiryanovskys is the kidnapping and murder of Viktor Faber, director of the KamAZ-Metallurgy plant, and his employee Natalia Starodubtseva. About three hundred policemen were engaged in searching for the missing.
For several years, only one victim managed to escape from the Tagiryanovskys. UBOP officers stormed the apartment where, in anticipation of a ransom of three and a half million dollars, the attackers were holding a prominent businessman from Naberezhnye Chelny.
The case involves illegal possession and use of weapons, deliberate destruction of another's property and infliction of grievous bodily harm. There are also a lot of rumors and legends about the gang around the city.
“A number of newspapers said that the Tagiryanovskys were eliminating competitors,” Rail Gaisetdinov, senior detective for especially important cases of the department for combating organized crime of the Naberezhnye Chelny Internal Affairs Directorate, told Novaya Gazeta. - The media ranked two businessmen, brothers Alexander and Sergey Klyuchnikov, as members of one of the criminal gangs. They wrote that the "Tagiryanovskie", motivated by revenge, blew up the Klyuchnikovs' car. There really was an explosion, Batsaev died, and the Klyuchnikovs were injured. They were very upset, they have their own business in the city, their partners, many people know them, and you can’t explain to everyone that what happened was distorted in the press.
The case will be considered by the Supreme Court of the Republic of Tatarstan, and experts suggest that the process will take at least a year. More than three hundred witnesses from different cities will be called to the meetings.
PS The editorial staff of Novaya Gazeta intends to closely monitor the progress of the process. We are more than confident that the killers of Igor Domnikov will be punished, but the customer and the mediator are still at large, and we hope that during the court hearings we will be able to establish additional facts confirming their guilt.
