As the President of Dagestan noted, the criminals surrendered after the appeal of the head of the FSB Nikolai Patrushev to the militants calling for a weapon.

Aliyev also noted the growing role of the population of the republic in matters of security. According to him, many residents apply to law enforcement agencies and report information about suspicious persons. “Eight terrorist attacks were prevented with the help of the population, 20 bandits were killed,” the president of the republic said.

However, he emphasized that while "the situation in the republic remains complicated," but at the same time "today we can talk about the tendency to change the situation for the better."

Significantly smaller compared to 2005 and 2004, the president of the republic noted, and there were terrorist attacks and victims among law enforcement officials and other services. “If earlier there were direct attacks on law enforcement officials, today the victims are mostly due to the fact that fighting clashes are taking place when trying to capture criminals,” Aliyev said.
